During World War II an American CIA operative named Jim Thompson underwent intensive jungle survival training for his upcoming assignments in Southeast Asia. When the war in the region ended abruptly in 1946 he soon received orders to return to the United States. However, it was not before he had fallen in love with the region, and would soon return to make Bangkok, Thailand his forever home. It was there that he created a new life for himself; one that re-invigorating a dying art: Thai silk production.
